Philipp Decker is a DAAD Postdoctoral Researcher at the Geschwister-Scholl-Institute of Political Science at LMU and a Visiting Professor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the Turkish-German University. He holds a PhD in Government from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), an MA from Central European University (CEU), and a Diploma in Political Science from the University of Vienna, with a specialization in European politics.
In 2019, he was appointed Assistant Professor and DAAD lecturer at the Turkish-German University in Istanbul, where he served as Director of the university’s European Affairs Program from 2021 to 2025. His research focuses on European politics, populist nationalism and Euroscepticism. He is the author of a monograph on Euroscepticism (2022) and has published several peer-reviewed articles in international journals, including the Journal of Political Ideologies, Nations and Nationalism, and the Austrian Journal of Political Science.
